Ed Karsten (K9EDK)

Welcome. My name is Ed Karsten, and I am an Amateur Radio Operator in Tempe, Arizona. I am a dispatcher for a local fire department, and my hobbies include fire photography, fire station and fire apparatus photography. I am actively involved in Amateur (Ham) Radio Public Service and emergency communications. I also enjoy antique carousels, RVing (and camping in general), bowling, darts, hockey, football and I’m sure a few other things I can't think of right now.

If you follow the links at the bottom of the page, you'll find pictures of fire apparatus, carousels and amateur radio events and information, including some links to places like the ARRL and MCECG. You'll also find pictures and a brief history of Ebony, my faithful companion (of the furry, 4-legged variety). NEWS! On August 27, 2005, Ebony made her very last trip to the Vet’s office. She will be missed!

New photos have been added to the carousel pages from my visit to San Diego in September, 2006. Be sure to stop by and take a look.

On October 17, 2005, a Lady entered my life. Be sure to visit Lady’s page by following the link at the bottom of the page (Lady is a Golden Retriever). I am also the Transport Coordinator for the local Golden Retriever rescue organization (Rescue A Golden of Arizona). For more information on RAG of AZ, you can visit their website at http://www.golden-retriever.org.

Enjoy your stay. If you have any comments or input, just drop me an email at ed@k9edk.com.

Due to space restrictions on the server (and the proportional relationship to the content of my wallet), when new pictures are added, the old ones are taken off, so return often. Amateur Radio event photos are now being posted on the MCECG website at www.mcecg.net. Some photos will be posted on this website, as time and space allows.

Thanks.            Ed
